Good stuff, Bob. This is in my wheelhouse. An observation as I was reading (and apologies if I missed it) I was wondering if there was underlying regret in both men, manifested differently for them as adults. Maybe Jimmy was an enforcer, Carl, the center, never took as many hits — they both carried anger/regret in different ways kind of thing. I did love the part with the commercials and the life is cruel line.
Appreciate you taking the time to read and leave a thoughtful comment, thanks Matt!
You know, it’s been a while since I wrote this so I can’t quite remember what I had in mind for their backstory, but that would definitely fit. I think you identified those characteristics of the characters perfectly.
So good! The paragraph starting with "Carl finished off his beer" gave such brilliant insight into both of them, especially towards the end. These guys are my favourite characters I've read from you, and I'm so glad they got a happy ending
ahhh hockey, what an elegant and violent ballet
Nothing quite like it.
who knew bros watching hockey could be this beautiful
Just trying to get some more beautiful bro energy out into the world, dilute the shitty bro energy.

Really enjoyed this. Shoutout Sudana for bringing me here.
Thanks for checking it out Christian. Shoutout Sudana forever, she’s the best.
I can hear this entire scene, accents and all.
Appreciate it Jamie, I hoped that would come through.
The Rangers are losing and I’m about to have a minor stroke, hella Carl energy over here
After that go ahead goal the camera went to a shot of a little boy decked out in Carolina gear crying. So I hope you’re happy now!
I actually AM ECSTATIC
BOOHOOOOOO MF’ER, GO TO BED
Haha ruthless. It’s Carolina, what can you expect. (I don’t actually know anything about Carolina - North or south)
LOLLL the faces right now, buried’em in their hometown 🤍
seriously tho what a game
streets of Brooklyn are raging right now
Can’t deny a comeback like that, crazy good game
I appreciate them doing everything they can to make this series more interesting. I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I’ll always root for a game 7.
Bromance is beautiful.
This world needs more bromance.

Thanks Daniel!
Your writing always transports me out of my world to somewhere beautiful - really a rare thing. I need to start watching hockey!
Thanks Nat, it’s worth it!
Only 10% in, but it’s Huberdeau, isn’t it?
Haha that may have been the name in the first draft.
FAN tastic!
Haha thanks Anna!
Thank you so much Simon! Of course I’m trying to improve with every piece, but it is incredibly reassuring to hear that from you.
Thanks Simon, I appreciate you!
